Day 7: Four turnoffs
As much as I easily notice the beauty and good in every person, it also doesn’t take a lot for me to find someone’s side which isn’t very… appealing.
1. Horrible pronunciation. I don’t think I am an expert in languages and the like, but please do speak frequently used English words properly. No matter how attractive you are, if you automatically turn “i” into “e”, “p” into “f”, and “b” into “v” (and vice versa) almost in every sentence, chances are, your attractiveness level will go down by more than a hundred thousand points. Haha. This being said, if your knowledge in grammar matches that of a grade school student—or even lower—then I might be giving you a grammar book instead of my number (assuming that you did ask for the latter. HAHAHA.)
Me being particular with those matters tells a lot about how much I value the English language and anything that revolves around it.
2. Dirt-ridden fingernails. And Halitosis. And body odor. Who, in his right mind, doesn’t find these things a turnoff, anyway?
3. Atrocious choice in clothing. This one may sound ultra shallow, but I honestly wouldn’t find someone pleasant to look at if his style in clothing is too flashy and ridiculous (read: trying hard) or it represents neglect in taking care of one’s self. What, then, do I consider amazing in this content? Look at All Time Low, The Maine, A Rocket to the Moon, The Summer Set and other similar bands. Enough said.
4. Letting out a fart and/or picking one’s nose in public. Worst case scenario is when those things are being done simultaneously. Oh, what a disgusting sight it would be. There are things which should not be shown to other people, you know.
Stuff I don’t bother about in this matter:
1. I don’t really care if you have two left feet and/or your singing career will go only as far as the contest held in your family get-together, because I myself don’t put “singing and dancing” when asked what my talents are. (I did several times when I was in grade school, only because my seatmates were good at it and I wanted to conform to the things majority of my classmates were doing. What can I say? I was in grade school.)
2. I don’t find smoking a turnoff, perhaps because I extremely like(d) guys who do. I myself find this quite unusual, and I once convinced myself that smoking should be one of the top things in my mental turnoff list, yet I failed. Haha. It just doesn’t. Bye.
